One of the biggest obstacles I hear for going Paleo is missing favorite recipes. Well, miss no more! Here’s a quick list of ingredient swaps to Paleo-ize almost any recipe!

Instead of this >> use this

WHITE FLOUR (1 cup) WHEAT FLOUR (in non-rising foods) >> COCONUT FLOUR (1/4-1/3 cup) or ALMOND FLOUR

SUGAR >> MAPLE SYRUP or HONEY

BROWN SUGAR >> PUREED DATES or DATE SUGAR

SHORTENING >> PALM SHORTENING

COW’S MILK >>  ALMOND or COCONUT MILK

BREAD CRUMBS >> GROUND FLAX

SOY SAUCE >> COCONUT AMINOS

PASTA >> ZUCCHINI or SPAGHETTI SQUASH

RICE >> CAULIFLOWER “RICE”

VEGETABLE OIL >> OLIVE, COCONUT or AVOCADO OIL

PEANUT BUTTER >> ALMOND or CASHEW BUTTER

CHOCOLATE CHIPS >> DARK, SOY-FREE CHOCOLATE CHIPS

BUTTER >> GHEE or COCONUT OIL
